University of Jordan Achieves International Accreditation for 55 Academic Programs


The University of Jordan (UJ) has proudly announced that 55 ​academic programs across 11 schools have received international accreditation from esteemed institutions. The accredited schools and their respective accrediting bodies are:

Engineering (7 Programs): Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)ABET-logo.png
ABET is a non-profit organization that accredits post-secondary education programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. ABET accreditation assures that a program meets the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce.

Similar to engineering, ABET accreditation in information technology ensures that programs meet high-quality standards that equip graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge for the IT industry.

WFME is a global organization that aims to enhance the quality of medical education worldwide. It develops global standards for medical education and promotes best practices in the training of physicians. WFME accreditation is a mark of excellence, indicating that a medical program meets international standards.

AACSB is a global association that provides accreditation to business schools. AACSB accreditation is a hallmark of excellence in business education, representing the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.​

Pharmacy (2 Program): Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)images.png

ACPE is an accrediting agency for pharmacy education in the United States. It provides accreditation for professional degree programs in pharmacy, as well as continuing education providers. ACPE ensures that pharmacy programs adhere to rigorous educational standards, preparing students for practice in a dynamic healthcare environment.

ADEE is a European organization that promotes high standards in dental education. It fosters collaboration and exchange of information among dental educators across Europe. ADEE sets benchmarks for dental programs to ensure quality and innovation in the training of dental professionals.

ABET also accredits programs in agriculture, ensuring they meet stringent educational standards that prepare students for successful careers in the agricultural sector.

ABET accreditation for science programs guarantees that they adhere to rigorous academic standards, fostering excellence in scientific education and research.


Nursing​ (1 Program):  Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)  ACEN.png

ACEN is a specialized accrediting body for nursing education in the United States. It accredits nursing programs at various levels, from practical nursing to clinical doctorate programs. ACEN ensures that nursing programs meet or exceed standards of educational quality and effectiveness.

WFOT is an international organization that promotes occupational therapy around the world. It sets standards for the education and practice of occupational therapists, ensuring that programs prepare graduates to meet the diverse needs of patients and clients globally.

EVALAG is a German agency that evaluates and accredits higher education institutions and programs. EVALAG accreditation ensures that foreign language programs meet high educational standards and promote quality teaching and learning.


International accreditation is crucial for students, enhancing their prospects for postgraduate studies and employment worldwide. These accreditations affirm the university's commitment to providing education that meets global standards, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the international job market.

UJ is also working towards obtaining international accreditation for additional programs in Tourism, Medical and Laboratory Sciences, Architectural Engineering, Educational Sciences, Arts and Design, and Sports Sciences. This reflects the university's ongoing dedication to academic excellence and continuous improvement in line with global standards.
International accreditation plays a crucial role for students, as it facilitates the pursuit of postgraduate studies and enhances job prospects in various countries worldwide.
