M.Sc. in Civil Engineering- Geotechnical Engineering
The Geotechnical program is established to admit outstanding students from diverse technical and educational backgrounds. It aims to equip the candidates with the necessary deepened knowledge in engineering mechanics, Geomaterials, and Geo-structures that unite to produce the Engineering of Geosystems. This definition settles the mis-conceptualized confusion of the discipline with the different earth sciences and disciplines. It encompasses a broad area of teaching and research in Geomechanics and Geosystems, with “English” being the program's instructional language. The program has been structured in significant scope and breadth. The program focuses on the extensiveness soil dynamics and geotechnical earthquake engineering, numerical geo-modeling, constitutive modeling, and soil behavior. All at once, it is structured in an unrestricted manner such that it enables the integrated and joint work with the related disciplines like mechanical Engineering, Geophysics, and Engineering Geology. Equipment and facilities include an extensive array of state-of-the-art testing systems, including triaxial equipment; direct shear; advanced triaxial and consolidation testing systems.
