Professor Lamis Rajab earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1981, Certificate of Higher Education; Group A (Dental Material) in 1982, and Certificate of Higher Education; Group B (Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry) in 1983, all from Bordeaux II, France. She also earned her PhD in Pediatric Dentistry from Paris V, France, in 1987.
She joined UJ’s Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, as an Assistant Professor in 1988, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1998 and Professor in 2003. She held several key positions at UJ including Chairwoman of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, 1991-1993, Vice Dean for Academic and Administrative Affairs, Faculty of Dentistry, 1993-2003, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, 2005- 2009, and Vice President for Health Faculties and University Hospital, 2010- 2013.
Professor Rajab served on several councils and committees at The University of Jordan and local organizations. She has supervised several master's theses and received the French Grade Officer of the Order of Academic Palms award.
Professor Rajab is a member of several councils and committees including the Board of Trustees of Petra University, the Higher Committee and Scientific Committee for Dentistry of The Jordan Medical Council, the Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Committee of the Scientific Research Support Fund, and the Jordanian Dental Association. She also served on the Judging Committee of Abdul Hameed Shoman Prize for Medical Sciences (2008).
She is also a temporary advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO), Chairwoman of the Jordan Medical Council Examination Board in Pediatric Dentistry, and Vice President of the National Society for Children’s Dental Care.
She is a well published researcher and has supervised several thesis and dissertations. In 2009 she received the French Grade d’officier de l’ordre des palmes académiques (Grade Officer of the Order of Academic Palms).
