Current Senator Yasera Ghosheh graduated from the University of Jordan (UJ) with a Bachelor's degree in Law in 1986, then went for a Master's in Commercial Law and earned her degree from UJ in 1993. She was also awarded an LLM in Commercial Law from Birmingham University, Birmingham, UK, in 1997.
Yasera Ghosheh began her practical life as a private practice Lawyer and legal adviser (1986 –1995). In 2000 she sought an academic career as a lecturer at Petra University, Amman, Jordan. In January 2002, she was appointed Deputy Director of the Economic and Development Division at the Royal Hashemite Court, and later on served as the technical and legal advisor for the Minister of Public Sector (December 2003 – June 2005).
She also served as Coordinator for the King Abdullah II for Excellence Award in Government Performance and Transparency, an award issued by a Royal Decree for excellence in Government performance and Transparency in 2002 (March 2004 till March 2006), and then as the Executive Director of King Abdullah II Center for Excellence (March 2006 – May 2016).
Ghosheh served as Minister of Public Sector Development (June 2016 – September 2016) before she was appointed by His Majesty the King as member of the Twenty-seventh Jordanian Senate and Assistant to the Senate's President.
The former minister is the Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Jerusalem Studies, and the Arab Civilization Society. She is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Scientific Society, as well as the General Assembly of the International Women's Forum and the General Assembly of the Jordan Bar Association.
Ghosheh is the recipient of Al Hussein Medal for Distinguished Contributions of the Second Class (2013), bestowed upon her by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and the KANO Excellence Medal (2013).
