Professor of Urology at UJ and former Minister of Health, Dr. Murshidi earned his M.B., B.CH. from the University of Baghdad in 1975, Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (F.R.C.S.) in 1979, and the Jordanian Board (Urology) in 1982.
Throughout his career, Prof. Murshidi held several key academic and administrative positions at UJ including Chairman of the Special Surgery Department, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and General Director of The University of Jordan Hospital.
In addition to serving as Minister of Health in 2013, Prof. Murshidi served on several boards, councils and committees in various capacities including Member of The University of Jordan Council, Member of the Jordan National Committee for Medical Schools Accreditation, Member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Urological Association, Member of the Scientific Committee for Surgery of the Arab Medical Board, Member of the Higher Council of the Arab Board of Medical Specialization, General Secretary of the Scientific Association of Arabic Medical Schools, Member of the Jordanian Higher Education Council, Member of the Board of Trustees of Petra University, and Vice-President of the Broad of Trustees of Jadara University.
He also served on the editorial boards of the Arab Journal of Urology, Jordan Medical Journal, Journal of the Royal Medical Services, Annals of Saudi Medicine, and the Journal of The Arab Board of Medical Specializations, and as an Examiner in surgery for the Arab medical Board, in Urology for the Jordan Medical Council, and for the master’s degrees at Mutah University Medical School and The National Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Genetics. He is also the author of many research articles.
